Norovember - Almost To The Finish Line!

Image
I'll add to this post after school, but as this is the last day of Norovember, I wanted to do a "quick and dirty" post so that I am not forever branded as a Knit-A-Long Slacker! I really do try....

For Those Who Asked...

The "Two Weeknights With Warrick" scarf pattern is finished. Still working on a clickable link for patterns. So, 'til I add to my Blogger skills... send me an email at the address to the right --> and I'll be happy to email it to you :). As always, I was the only test knitter, so feel free to email me feedback, and pictures too.

Look Ma! Real Knitting!

First off, I'd just like to thank you for all the kind and supportive comments about my exam and school. It's been a whirlwind, but things are falling into place. I interviewed this week for my placement and I think I'll get some excellent legal corporate experience there. A guest speaker today has me really looking at patents and trademarks too - it's all so interesting!
The commute into school has been a boon for the knitting this week. (sidebar: I think I get more weird looks from people when I pull out my knitting than I did when I was nursing the kidlets! There was another knitter on the bus with me this afternoon, the first I've seen, and for the longest time, no one would sit with us, Hm-m-m, I was feeling like we were our own little Gangsta Knitta Posse! Yo Yo! Don't be sittin' here breathin' all over the Noro and such! See dis yo? This girl got needles and she gonna use them if y'all don move on to da back uh duh bus!) OK. So, I've recov…

I studied, I wrote, I may even have passed :). I also had the flu all week and during my down time, I worked on a Noro scarf for DD - I have one for DS on the needles, both as part of the Norovember KAL. Confession time. I have turned into the biggest Noro Hag on the planet! The scarves were to test run Kureyon, love at first stitch and I bought enough to make up a sweater. I caught a massive sale on Transitions - that will be my NaKniSweMo project, and a Silk Garden clearout found me, how could I say no? Some Kochoran for a long-planned pullover is on the way - courtesy of another fabulous sale! So. Do I need a 12-step program yet?

I am having a blast with my Sock Madnessdesign - I'm just finishing up the variation (version 2) and will submit it for consideration (thank you CBM for the heads up on this)!

My sock of the month from Pick Up Sticksarrived - it is sock heaven! I don't have a picture to show but it is VvS sock yarn in "Antares" with a very cute sock patter…

WIP Wednesday

Well, actually an FO. They happen so rarely in Karin's World these days! It's been a very pleasant November so far, no need for a scarf yet, but I will definitely be ready with this one, and the same design done in Manos a while back. The WIP's are the same, Sock Madness design, "Lupine Lace" socks, diagonal progression pullover and a couple others that shall remain nameless until done - my bad startitis has become a little overwheming!

The yarn porn is, as always yummy, and has helped me deal with a rather trying week, I will be so relieved to graduate!
I have my first Liza Souza, and it is all that I've read - luscious! One skein is reserved for a KAL. Some Araucania Atacama in berry tones for a fitted cardigan. And from Reynolds, the 50/50 silk and wool Rapture, for a big, fat, Friday-in-front-of-the-fireplace pullover.

My new design in Yarntini's "Fig and Plum, Wilhemina Venom models my scarf (and Frankie approves), and Louet Gems Pearl for the Lup…

Running Behind - Again!

I know, I know - but Blogger was misbehaving, there was a Litigation exam to study for, etc., etc.
Isn't this a great centrepiece? DH is Captain Halloween, so stuff like this plus an awesome outside display are annual events here.
I've started the "Lupine Lace" socks for the EA Clark knit-a-long, begun a new sock design (hopefully for a KAL in the New Year), the "Misty Garden" scarf from Pam Allen's scarf style (Trellis shawl had to take a backseat to this because I couldn't resist getting my Jo Sharp rare comfort mohair onto the needles). I am not speaking to my Diagonal Progression - well, until tomorrow anyway. I needed some "quick and dirty" instant gratification knitting.
I'm working my new design in Yarntini's sportweight yarn - I am so-o-o in love with this, saturated colours, soft, springy and sportweight knits up so quick, it is fantastic!
My "Dragon Scales" for the Six Sox KAL is dragging along - don't know why…
